Casanova Disciplined For Doing The ‘Junebug Challenge’ In Jail

Just days after rapper Casanova did the Junebug Challenge while in jail, it appears he will be receiving some disciplinary actions by officials at the Westchester County Jail, according to ABC News. Westchester County Correction Commissioner Joseph Spano said correction officials have revoked Casanova’s video visitation privileges because recording videos and taking pictures during a virtual visit is prohibited. In addition, he faces another charge for not wearing a mask.

Commissioner Spano said, “I’m happy to say we don’t have a lot of issues with video visits because inmates know it’s a privilege, not a right.” Casanova’s attorney, James Kousouros, noted that Casanova was not the only inmate who posted the video. He also said he hopes the matter can be resolved without Casanova being cut off from video visits because that is the only way he can see his loved ones during the COVID-19 pandemic.

James said Cas was “trying to keep his spirits up and have a laugh” while in the facility. If you recall, this isn’t the first time Cas has shared a message behind bars. On January 11th, he shared a photo via Twitter with him in an orange jumpsuit and black durag on the phone, speaking to his children. He wrote, “ALL OF MY LIFE’S PROBLEMS HAVE ONE SIMPLE SOLUTION… A HUG FROM MY CHILDREN. I MISS YA’LL. SEE YA’LL SOON.”

A few days prior, on January 7th Cas also responded to a Tweet where rapper Rowdy Rebel spoke on Cas’s situation. In a video that was shared, Rowdy said, “Look at what they just did to the bro Casanova. I don’t know what he was out here doing, but I’m going to say it like this bro, in my heart, I feel like he wasn’t out here doing none of that bro. Every time I talked to that man, he had positive words for me. He had nothing but, ‘Yo listen. When you come home, make sure you straighten up. It’s people out here watching ni**as.’ He was putting me on to how to move when I come out here. So I don’t want to say my bro was a hypocrite.”

Casanova is currently facing a life sentence in prison if he gets convicted.
